I am currently trying to work out where the tube of toothpaste that I have found on my desk whilst tidying my room has come from. It's definitely not mine, as it's a different brand from the toothpaste I use, and as far as I know no-one's brought toothpaste into my room. So where has it come from?

Everyone knows the tooth fairy doesn't exist. It's a mouse, who takes it to build a castle with. Every kid in France knows that! *shakes head* Poor deluded British people...

What are you talking about? Mice building castles out of teeth indeed. I've never heard such rubbish.

They don't pull the teeth out! We used to put our fallen out milk teeth in a little saucer by a hole in the skirting board, which is where the mouse used to live. My dad made a little door for it and everything.

And did you ever see the castle?

No, silly. The castle was built deep underground. It'a place for all the mice to live in. You couldn't have it where everyone could see it!

This all sounds highly suspect to me. Did the mouse leave anything in return for your tooth?

Of course, 10 francs. Which would be about 1 EUR 50

And where is a mouse going to get a pile of 10 franc coins from?

Well they're not ordinary mice, they're teeth mice. They're very resourceful. And 100% times more plausible than a stupid fairy.

Ahh, but is she a tooth fairy?

I don't know. She might just be a general non-specific fairy. But she definitely exists, I've spoken to her.

Well until I see a tooth fairy I'm not convinced. No tooth fairy ever came for my teeth that's for sure! And I've seen the tooth mouse's footprints in the flour we left outside his mousehole. And the nibble marks in the cheese.
