Rains - Wondering where time's going and why it's in so much of a hurry! Started conversation Oct 15, 2002
Have at last finished moving. This was a not too lengthy process, which involved a Transit Hi Top Long Wheelbase and Dave driving it as I am too young and inexperienced to drive something large and dangerous. Though it has been said that anything I'm behind the wheel of is dangerous!
The move to my parents is to SAVE money, so imagine my shock and surprise when, ringing up to swap over my insurance, I'm told that the grand total of my insurance is now £2180........for a standard Saab 900. I appear to have moved to a war zone!
I swallowed my pride (bit difficult, especially in large chunks) and went for a test drive in a Ford Ka (small, budget 'no-frills' hatch). Perhaps the tinniest, smallest, cheapest thing I have ever been in. All in all, NOT what I could see myself driving for a long period of time. And the insurance was still £1300!
Perhaps I've been framed for some speeding tickets or something? Or someone has sneaked a turbocharger into my car (I wish)?
