h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Yes, planet Rains is moving yet again. This will be the 4th address I've lived at this year, so I'm considering saving up and buying a VW Camper van. OK, I'll lose any credibility I have with my friends, but at least moving around will be easy and I'll be able to say the word "dude" without fear of reprisal.

Back in January I shared a house in Warwick, but one of the other occupants was buying a flat, so we all moved out, and I went to share with another mate in Kenilworth from February till June. Then I decided I'd rather try and live on my own for a bit in a village called Napton.....

Meanwhile, my parents, who are even more vulnerable to this sort of wanderlust than me, decided they'd had enough of the countryside and were going to move from Cumbria to Coventry in September....

So, the plan was born that at the age of 23 I was going to - wait for it - move back in with my parents in October! After 5 years living away from home, the odds are against me being able to put up with this (or my parents, seeing as they have enjoyed their freedom from me by spending longer hours in the pub).

The ground rules have been set and are quite fair; as long as they know where I'll be I don't have a curfew, and I can even bring my boyfriend back as well. Plus when you consider all my bills will be paid, I get fed, my clothes will get washed and ironed and we even get satellite, makes £130 a month board an absolute bargain!
