Zimmer gently on a low heat....
Mycelium Started conversation Jan 31, 2003
Two years since I wound up in a wheelchair and today I took a Zimmer Frame home and had my first strut around the flat. Feels good, I think my walking will improve much quicker now, maybe in another year I can walk into the office of the consultant who wrote me off back then and show him I was right.
I can't get over how low everything in my flat is, especialy the kitchen.
Anyway, I'm celibrating it now with a pizza, beer and a succession of illegal regals.

i think this is wonderful news myc.... i am sure you have the tenacity for this conquest to succeed at the earliest possible time!!! i will be watching this space for news of progress... and if you get pissed off at times - which may be possible - sit down and have a good moan and let's have a scrabble on yahoo - if you do that sort of thing... i am a totally rusty chess player, a competent bridge player and gamester of all sorts, currently frustrated because my video board is temporary and i have 'black and white' which i cannot play because it is too sluggish... do you like computer games? until..

not really, although I do have a particular weakness for Freecell (my maximum winning streak is 58 games, sad or what?). My computer's not hardcore enough to play anything more taxing on system resources than, say, Lemmings. well, it's not quite that bad, but you get the picture.
Is black&white good? I'd expect it would be, Peter Mollineux's never written a duff game. ahh, Syndicate, now there's a game my PC will run. maybe I should get a copy.

oh, and don't worry about offending me, I'm as thick-skinned as they come.
d'you remember my 'hospital radio' thread on MC-H?

what system do u run? i could let you have deus ex machina if it suits - that is an agent game with guns and things.. but quite good...
for the games on yahoo and zone u dont need anything.. i just noticed u like wordgames and so does the Lovegrove.. perhaps we could make up 3 for literati = i think it is more fun than the games here because there is a little more speed involved.. you could also try wordracer.. any number can play there.. they are rather better than freecell.. which i like too.. but it seems limiting once you know other choices.. forgot i play backgammon and canasta too.. occasionally

[punches air with fist in triumphant gesture]
This week in physio, I walked 20 metres on my zimmer frame with only verbal abuse from my physio for assistance. And this was after an 8 metre walk and three sets of ten squats!
100 metres by christmas? bring it on!
