I am as likely to hear a piece of music as the crash as the cup *if I am thinking- picturing the same event Anybody do that?

I am just as capable of associating colors with smells as I am smells with sounds.
I can visualise only if I've seen it for myself, then I have to learn what people call things (not necessarily what they are really known as in the nomenclature) before I can talk about them.
I have several fellow employees that cannot understand gestures or think creatively.
I get tired of being asked,"Where do you come up with this stuff, why can't you focus?"
Unfortunately, to me, they be the ones that aren't in focus.
Because of this...
BTW, Oliver Sacks books are very fascinating. They give you an insight into just how little psychiatry and medicine are sciences and more a series of compared precedents reinterpreted.
Because of this... I am very word-oriented. I taste words.
I feel them. They have texture and size and color.
I can't understand why people will deliberately limit their vocabularies when they could be creative in their selection.

I also enjoyed Oliver Sacks books and recommend them.
Sometimes I think I smoke *partly because the odors and tastes are so strong and distracting, sometimes nauseating ,they would get in my way of focusing. Sometimes they add to my focus.
I usually see colors when I hear music
I cannot see as well in the car, if I do not turn down the car radio but I do not know what that is about.
Some words are actually bitter and have an unpleasant body feeling
TR said-
"Unfortunately, to me, they be the ones that aren't in focus."
I can understand some of that thinking!

The whole thing is very odd isn't it? One reason i have such difficulty in speaking French is that i MUST have a new word spelt out for me, until i can SEE it, i can't hear it, thus can't understand it, so can't possibly use it. Every new word has to go into my sort of...autocue:ticker tape thing.
When i am trying to have a conversation with a French person, i have to do this whole process of hearing what they say, turning it into visual words, then translating those, thinking of a response in English, translating that into French, visualising the phrase and finally trying to actually say it, taking into account the pronunciation.
Not surprisingly, by the time i have done all this, the person has invariably either got bored and wandered off or thinks i am a total moron, or moved onto another topic, which means "forget the response you just thought of and start again"
Bloody hard work!!!!!
