Wow that is a great program.
It would help mobility!
Nothing like that here.

There must be Abbi, after all its only a "contract hire" scheme. You are only leasing the car for 3years, and have a 45.000 milage limit.
There must be some kind of Mobility scheme in the USA as well?
Here in the UK you can use your "Mobility Allowance" to hire electric scooters, or even buy them. You can also use the money in install stair lifts in you house.
We are going to have a "wet floor shower" installed soon, we have been waiting over 2 years for it so far! Its a shower for disabled folk, you have to qualify for it by being "Means Tested" (your income if any?)and your disability has to be bad enough (for the want of a better word?)to qualify. Then all you have to do, is stay alive long enough to wait your turn on the list
Smudger,

The system is not nearly as helpful here.
Not organized, not one system, no mobility fund.
Case by case and the rules change every 2 years with the elections.
There are 50 states and 50 ways to do things.
Most poorly insufficient.
he wealthy are the only ones that can afford to stay out of nursing homes or be in decent ones. The nursing homes are not very good unless you have private money to pay for extra help.
If they give to the elderly they take from the children...
It is a huge mess.
The US is proabably still rated the lowest on health care for average citizen with the highest costs and only recently has infant and pre-natal care improved way above the under developed countries.
If I could zip around with the computer easier I'd get you a link
