h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

This time it will be relatively short [compared to the previous journal entry that is...]...

We have now our own bar!!!!

Yep... it's called "The FoLDers Arms" and has been already err "tested" by some of us...
The number is: A913150.

There will be more rooms added during the coming weeks... and all suggestions for themes etc regarding these "soon-to-be-added" rooms are more than welcome...

Opening time: a little problem there... our barkeeper cannot be around until 5pm due to some rather unpleasant RL duties [w**k ]...
But, you're still welcome to pop in during the day and help yourself with the drinks... some of us will be around as much as possible during the day...

Everyone is welcome... So, let your friends know about it...?!...



Remember the good old LD library?!... RIP... it is now closed down... Tho' we will never be able to replace it completly we now have a quotes section on h2g2... A909010... Again, suggestions for more topics are more than welcome...
It is more a place to share ideas, infos etc than trying to prove anyone else wrong... so please _do_ refrain from mocking etc other people's comments/ideas... We really want it to be a place where everyone can feel comfortable expressing themselves about subjects they might not usually talk about in a public place... Together we can make it happen... Thanks in advance...

Also... and that's very important to us for many reasons... we would like to encourage LDers and other Researchers to plug/advertise their entries and projects etc through the "Announcements Room"... It's there for that... don't hesitate using it...

We will pass on some of these infos to the whole LDers community on h2g2 through various other means [the Lders space's journal being one of them] but, to do so it's important that we know about them in the first place... That way, the Quotes Section's Announcements Room will help us in our aim to support the LDers on h2g2...

Just got an email from the governor:

"LeisureDistrict will now remain open until 31st January"

Don't appear very often but I get up to date eventually.

I have noticed the bar before and on the digibox, get as far as the first page. Once I try to enter any of the convo places, I have to reboot However,I have noticed Loups little 'Just testing' postings. including in the Ladies Room

I'm really glad that LD is left alone for a little longer I've been sneaking in there on occasions just to make the most of the games thinking it will disappear. So glad to know that I have a little longer. Shame I've got to go to work. The inconvenience of it all.

A little more up to date news for Kow.... I've heard from Bobby again. Some of the lads have formed a band and they're really good. YOU wouldnt like them no doubt, but I do

Anyway, they want to represent Leonard and I emailed Bobby for blessing He gave it. It also appears that he now lives in Europe and is thinking of doing a music festival consisting of European bands. He wants to know if I'm interested! COURSE I am! Problem is time. Told you I'd end up doing this didnt I?!

Anyone know of a good solution to help us NOT to sleep Could do with one.

as for the testing posts... yep... twas difficult to keep the lid on the whole project... or both the bar and the quotes section actually... [the ladies bathroom seems to be quite popular by the way...]

we had some problems accessing one of the threads at the beginning but it looks ok now...

hopefully it will be ok for a while longer...

Well it looks really good and what im going to do is email all the lders i have on my email, which is atleast 70 from when i had the peeps in my chat when the firewalls were down, and ill explain this to them and how to get started ect and we might just see alot of new peeps by the end of this month also if you were to add links to all the other rooms on there too that would be cool and easier for peeps to get about, something like a dropdown box or something, keep up the good work and i hope it works out for the best

we might also put some "exit" signs on the bar page with one directing people to the chat room... another one to the quotes section...
another another one to the dreamcast zone...
and of course one to the LDers space...

still quite a lot to do really... but it's getting there...

jane... i realised what might have been the problem... before manda linked the threads to their clickable frames, the frames were linked to the infamous A123456 which is a neutral number but not good for the digibox...

Loup..... I WAS in plain skin when I was trying to access. Still feel tempted to return to Goo but thats my own fault. I still havent put the link on the page to access the search engine and that.... irks me.

The Ladies Room in bound to be popular.... the best conversations always happen there.

The Music Festival. Well, if I had more time, I would throw myself into it wholeheartedly..... as it is, I shall throw myself into it as much as I can. I was hoping I would be over all this by now, but no such luck.

Seriously, its important. I feel it is anyway. Until Leonard is released, the fight goes on.

twas not manda's fault... he was only waiting for me to say when they were ready to be linked... and then tons of delays fell on me... i think last week had a record in delays... including a massive one where i trusted the digibox too much and saw half of _both_ pages disappearing pratically under my eyes...

also the good thing about these two projects is that they exist because some Lders suggested them... there've been [and there still is ] a great team

Ok, I won`t blame manda and as you were suffering from a severe case of `Digibox Syndrome`, I won`t blame you either.

Please tell me what is Dreamcast used for and how do I add an entry using plain skin Loup?

a dreamcast is a bit like one of the new playstations machines that came out a while ago... people can surf the net with it as well...

as for adding an entry... we do it the same way that with the other skins... tho' you might want to preview it with the other skins anyway as the effect you want to achieve might not always show in all the skins...

Katrine: If you write the entry when using the plain skin, that will be the default. I notice you're still using the 360 trick, are you having trouble using plain?

Yes Kow as there is no place to add an entry as in the other skins. I cannot see add an entry on my own personal space and that is why I am using 360.

katrine: your last entry goes well with 360 anyway... so no problem there...

if you can't see the add new entry thingy in plain skin... you can still do it with the other skins... the only thing being that you will have to avoid trying to access conversations while working on your entry that's all...

i can't remember off hand where the add new entry is in plain skin... will check in a mo'...

ok... got it... look at "most recent entries".... go down until you will see in blue "add new entry" which is under "click here to see more entries"... for my space anyway... that's with the plain skin...

Loup, I have put a clear quartz stone on top of the digi box to see if it could make it work better. I was told it worked for computers to help them work better.
