Yesterday I went to my local cinema to see HHGG, only when I got there, I discovered they were no longer showing it. It's kind of put a damper on my whole weekend.
I could have seen Star Wars III, I guess, but after the gushing reviews of HHGG I had read on this and other sites, I just couldn't face anything else. My cinema cash was then spent on and ies, and I am now the only person on this entire site who has not seen the movie.

Awwww....
How are things, other than getting locked out of seeing the movie? Truth be told, I was going to try to see it again, but I waited too long.

well, you're not the only one. I haven't seen it yet (but that's mainly because it hasn't opened here yet - but even then, I'll have to wait [probably in vain] for it to come out in English)

Well, I am going to get it the second it comes on DVD, but it's just not the same...
And Sho, I would have expected that, since it's a British movie, it would be in English with German subtitles...

I spent last week in Sligo, and to my rapture, disocovered that they were still showing HHGG in the cinema there! I went to see it at 2:00, and was the only person in the entire theatre, probably the only customer in the cinema.
ZOMFG it was so f***ing class! Great reference to Ford's name at the start, and the POV gun was used predictably but excellently! And how cool was it that the original Marvin made a cameo?!

Did you spot the original radio and TV theme music too?

If only!! Here they dub everything. Although recently most big multiplex cinemas show at least one film per week in the Original (so 99% of the time it's in English)
The nearest one to me shows one film once a week in English, and I just have to hope it's something I like. Then I have to hope that can/will take the evening off so I can go (he has to babysit)
When ROTK came out it was on for two weeks three times a day in English. I caught the very last showing and there were only 9 of us in the cinema.
Although I did see Kingdom of Heaven in German (purely to ) and it wasn't so bad. I don't have a problem with the language, i just prefer to hear the original voices.
