Well all the exam results have been digested. smiley - headhurts

Eldest got a C and 2 Ds - frankly better than I thought she'd do because she's done damn all work. She wants to go to Luton to do media, but Mrs Disorganised has explained to her that she can't live on £3,000 a year student loan, so she needs to get a job for a year and SAVE.

No. 2 got 2 B's a C and an E in her AS levels. She intends to be a history teacher, and hopes to go to Oxford Brookes. She's saving already for this eventuallity.

No. 3 got 2 A's 5 B's 3 C's and 2 D's. We arranged for one of the C's to be re-evaluated because her coursework was all A and A*. She's got a part-time job at Sainsbury's on the salad bar. She says she wants to be a lawyer ?

No. 4 sits GCSE's this year, hasn't yet decided if she's going to stay on. (She will.)

No.5 starts school next Monday. Its not fair ! smiley - wah He's only 4.

No.6 starts play school 3 afternoons a week next Monday as well. May The Good Lord help her teachers. smiley - biggrin

The dog has refused to attend classes, and the cat has been excluded. The duck will be attending special school unless it desists from crapping on the patio. smiley - skull

Good heavens, you had THREE of them sitting big exams this year! Your house must have been stress-city! Good results though.

My granddaughter starts school on Wednesday next week, mornings only until Christmas (she's only 4 too) and then full time from January when she becomes a "rising five". Her brother should have started playschool, but will not follow the criteria of parting from his nappy, so they have deferred him until after Christmas.

Good job as it turned out because some mindless louts got bored in the holidays and set fire to the playschool building, completely gutting it, so they are a bit short of spaces at the other two sites as they try to fit everyone in.

It doesn't seem so long ago that I first became a Granny, and now, barring accidents, I have only one more to look forward to (according to both my daughters anyway). The eldest feels that two is enough, and the youngest feels that two is too many, but doesn't want her firstborn to be the onlyborn! So, one more to come sometime in the future and that's it smiley - wah

I'm feeling very OLD tonight

Still Incognitas, Still Chairthingy, Still lurking, Still invisible, unnoticeable, missable, unseen, just haunting h2g2

Feeling ticked off because I didn't read the last school bulletin properly.I got up early only to discover that my son has to be in school by 1.45 pm.
What is the point of him going into school on a Friday afternoon? He will no sooner be there than he will be coming back especially now they have reorganised the schoolday to start at 8.30 instead of 8.50 and to close at 3pm instead of 3.30 pm.

What a waste of a Friday PM.

I suppose it gets all the administration and orientation out of the way i.e. where is my classroom? who is my year head? do I have a locker? yes/no I do/do not want school dinners etc. etc. so that they can start straight in on Monday morning with the learning stuff.

That's the case here, anyway.

Sorry you've had a bad day smiley - rosesmiley - cuddlemoresmiley - choc

No5 is doing 5 mornings this week, and then 5 afternoons next week, whilst I can see the point of starting them gradually, what is the point of moving from mornings to afternoons, when you've got them into a routine ?

No. 5 is doing 5 mornings this week and 5 afternoons next. I can understand starting them gradually, but why move them to afternoons when you've got them set in a routine ?

Hallo, oh, disorganised one.

My granddaughter started school yesterdaysmiley - cry, mornings only until Christmas, then full time. At least she is granted the routine of mornings only all the time, but your school's system for No.5 sounds a bit disruptive, for both you and No.5!

I had to take care of her and her brother this afternoon from noon until 3pm, with a house packed solid with possessions and a decorator rampaging around the back room. Now - the problem is.... neither grandchildren are keen on the smiley - dogsmiley - dogs, the decorator definitely hates the smiley - dogsmiley - dogs and so the smiley - dogsmiley - dogs are kept shut in the front room with occasional releases for calls of nature etc. smiley - cat No.2 is not allowed out into the outside world at the moment (medical reasons), but if I shut her in with the smiley - dogsmiley - dogs she pesters them to bits and they get edgy (they're all alright if allowed the full freedom of the house, but cooped up together - not good), so she is shut in the back bedroom.

For various other reasons too complicated to mention, the front bedroom is also out of bounds, which leaves me with the kitchen, the bathroom and the garden to entertain little ones.........then it rained, so I am now down to kitchen and bathroomsmiley - yikes. Knowing young grandson's penchant for water, the bathroom got ruled out, so we spent a cramped 3 hours in the kitchen, cooking up cakes, playing with water at the sink, colouring, singing songs and hoping the rain would stop (it didn't).

After two hours, grandson decides he would like a nap - yes, but WHERE?! Oh, he was quite sure about that, and spent the next hour, until his Mum arrived, fast asleep smiley - zzz on a reclined garden chair - in the shed! He loves it in there, and it is not too far from the back door so I could see he wasn't getting up to mischief in there. Granddaughter and I spent the rest of the time chatting about school and reading comics/magazines.

Hopefully all will be well next week when decorator moves out, furniture moves back in, and the walls of the front room can breathe again.

Hope you're not missing your brood toooo much
