h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

...that I hadn't posted for about three days, and the last time I did that someone thought I was ill and someone else came looking for me because they thought I'd gone missing. So just so you know, I'm fine, I'm here, and if not entirely normal, then at least returned to some kind of prior circumstance. I've just been busy over the past few days. However, I now unfortunately have no excuse to doss and must get back to work. Which means I'll be reading a paragraph and then spending halk an hour on hootoo, as per usual.

*wonders if she can get away with procrastinating for an hour until her lecture starts... nah, better not.*

*sigh* Ay me. Sad hours seem long.

I'd been worried!

Well, OK, I hadn't been worried. But I'd wondered where you were. I have far too many problems with the interweb to assume that people may be away because they have a real life problem.

It's funny, isn't it, that we start caring about people who are little more than blocks of text to us. The modern world is a funny thing.

Aye. I have more people I consider friends online than in real life, by a long chalk.

For me it's about the same, I think, but there are people (well, just one person, actually) who I know online that I feel closer to than anyone I know in RL. Which seems odd... But my theory is that similar types of people tend to frequent forums, especially hootoo. So it's not surprising that we meet people who we get along with so well.

I've managed to scatter myself accross the interweb, in some cases dragging RL peeps with me - so I don't count them for either side. The RL side has taken significant losses because of this.

I wouldn't expect you to be worried anyway. There's no reason why you should be.

i used to have more friends online that RL, but lately i seem to be meeting cool people (they know who they are) and they introduce me to other cool people, and they introduce me to more cool people. i know now, just at uni, nrly 100 people by name, and over 1000 by face, i have less phone numbers, as i generaly meet them randomly lol
