We (those of us in Victoria on the Telstra network) got a text message from the police today that said:
Msg from Vic Ppolice:Extreme weather in Vic expected Mon night & Tues.High wind & fire risk.Listen to local ABC radio for emergency updates.Do not reply to this.
It's 8.51pm here and quite mild. Not doona weather, but not too hot.
Hopefully tomorrow won't be to horrible.

Ta, FB.
It didn't get as hot as expected today, fortunately. We even got a bit of rain this morning, but it had dried up by lunch time.
The gale-force winds today were the main danger. It brought down trees and powerlines. It certainly didn't help the fires any.
Tomorrow is supposed to be much cooler, although they predict more strong winds.
I'm longing for this summer to be over. I can't imagine what it must be like for the people who keep having to evacuate their towns.

It's been raining! Real rain (although light) NOT drizzle.
In fact it's chilly enough, as I type, to have the heater on.
There are still fires burning, but they're all contained.

I was at the Sound relief concert on Saturday. AWESOME!!
During the concert it bucketed down. They announced that the last of the fires were finally out. What a moment. A stadium full of 80,000 people there to raise money for the bush fire appeal, it buckets down all day and the fires finally go out.
The music was pretty damn good too.
