You've got to remember that he's a good natured, 'chip-in when your mates are down' sort of guy and I think being in the US at 9/11 had more of an impact that maybe he's willing to admit. Unfortunately, he is the leader of this country, so when he chips-in, we don't see him personally wearing the bullet proof vest...but maybe that's a good thing, he wouldn't last long...leave it to the professionals.

At least our people are professionals, unlike those silly saps that went the wrong way and got ambushed in the middle of a Iraqi occupied town.

I wish he'd waiting until the could have got the UN on side, but this conflict was inevitable when they did not complete the task 12 years ago, and John Howard knows this.

What I don't get is the attitude of the French and Russian? I wonder what their agenda is....and I do not believe it's to stop a war happening.

Apparently the French and Russians get oil supplied from Iraq.

I was surprised that Little Johnny refused the invite to go to Washington and meet with Bush and Blair. Maybe he's afraid the plane will be hi-jacked.

I don't understand how the conflict was inevitable. War should be the very last resort. As long as it's happening though, let's hope for a speedy end to it.

War should be seen as surgery, done only on extreme cases and then done properly first time so the doctors need to go in a secon time. It wasn't done properly the first time and we are seeing now how the people of Iraq suffered for 12 years as a result.

Howard can't be seen to leave the country now with everything so up in the air. He needs to stay here and show at least a calm and reasoned exterior for the majority of Australians to look to. He also doesn't need anymore warmongering publicity that going to the war coucil would provide.

That's a good reason for France and Russian vetoing the war...but I've heard another. Just recently a whole bunch of Russian, missle messing (it scambles their radar or something)hardware was discovered by allied troops. Russia will now have a please explain for supplying millitary equipment to Iraq.

Agreed...quicker the better.

*War should be like surgery? Ooookay.

*Perhaps they shouldn't even have gone in the first time.

*Blair left his country.

*Glad you agree.

*Sorry 'bout the point form, not much time to type.
