There are no clean bowls this morning. Leave me alone, I didn't wanna finish the dishes last night. So, the kids come in and indicate the problem. I consider getting up, but instead tell them to go into the kitchen and find the silliest thing they can to put their cereal in. Joseph picked a ceramic dip bowl. Nyssa chose a plastic measuring/pouring thing with a long handle.
Oh, what. It's not like I told them to wash their own bowls.

they're 5 and 6. nyssa would suck at it. joseph would take 45 minutes doing it because he is obsessively thorough.

Taking 45 minutes to get breakfast may teach him a lesson about appropriate levels of cleanliness...

No, you saw the state of coffee mugs that were shared with my ex-flatmate.
On the other hand it's comments like that that ensure Hotel Blues has firmly stayed shut since that meet, so keep it up.

Get the kitten to lick the bowls first. They are quickly trained to do this. Start with cereal 'cos they like milk. It takes a while to work them up to curry, but with persistence it can be achieved.
