..what a boring non-risk-taker I am. I've been deliberating for much too long about cutting my hair. Hair! Like chin-length locks will potentially suddenly make everyone change their opinion of me. *sigh* I guess maybe I've still got that claim in the back of my mind that I got from some probably mostly reliable source years ago that boys actually prefer long hair on girls. That said, if Njan suddenly finds me ugh because of a hair cut, we have more problems that I thought. Also, that statistic might actually have been jumbled together in my head after reading the paper my sister wrote for her ultra-conservative christian school about how the Bible insists that a woman's hair needs to be long. Wow..now if *God* hates the Audrey Tatou look, maybe I should reconsider..*suddenly feels cheeky enough to go ahead with it*
Neurotic enough for a Monday morning?

The person who emigrated to another country in a whirlwind marriage to a stranger she met on the internet? Not spontaneous? I worry.

Yeah..but those things I feel just..happen to me I guess. Haircuts require actual deliberation!
..
That's total crap, isn't it?

As for the hair question, I think most blokes do prefer longer hair. My girl in Italy used to have waist length brown hair, it was gorgeous, then on her 18th birthday she decided to have it cut short and bleached cos she said she wasn't keeping long hair just cos guys like it...
Not a huge fan of her new hair, its one of those fashiony cuts that just looks like a mullet. Having said that, I still reckon she's gorgeous whatever her hair...

Bob!
Yeah..I'm also aware that you have to be cute to pull off a short haircut. The last time I had one, I was pregnant, so it's hard to judge by my memory of people's reactions. People, wisely, tend to be extra nice to cranky pregnant girls.

Also pondering haircut. Yes, the guys definitely do like it, just as i love long hair on guys. But if this aspect was removed from the equation, i would go for short hair for myself.
Lots of symbolic stuff though, very common to go for the chop when a relationship ends, or even when it's just going through a rocky patch. Also if you know the partner loves your long hair, it can be a sneaky form of punishment.
Whatever, it's your hair, not theirs. But it's like adding too much salt to your cooking, once it's gone, you can't put it back again...mind, there are hair extensions though...
There's a site somewhere i found which collects long hair & donates it to cancer victims having chemo to make reallyhairpieces, so if you do go for the chop, don't throw it away, put it into a ponytail & keep it, i will try & find the site.

Ive never really put hair length into the equation when considering a girls attractiveness.
Condition and such like count for a lot more, but if I were pressed Id have to say long hair looks nicer in the same way that long wedding dresses look nice. However long hair can reaaly get in the way in the bedroom.

Yeah. You know we were talking about hair on the head, right?

We were?
Hey Blicky .
I guess I've decided that tomorrow I'll go into a salon and say, '*You're* the professionals, you got all those SVQs or whatever they're called up here, *you* tell me what I should do. Cut? Color? Eh?' At this point I'd accept about anything....excepting of course those styles that *those* girls have..you know, the girls who actually buy those neo-80s jersey skirts and furry boots they sell at New Look?

A lot of the men I meet say that they like long hair, and I've always kept mine long because my dad and one of my brothers have always said they like long hair on women. I'm not sure they are so keen now it's dreadlocks, but I like long hair too, and think men and women look more attractive with it. It doesn't stop me going out with short-haired (or even receeding!) men though.

*Mina hair *
I love that sort of hair, and people have taken the dread locks idea in interesting directions these days. Maybe it's having grown up in a university hippy town and all the people with dreads being potheads, but I'm not sure I could go *that* interesting. I haven't been in the UK yet, and since I have the opportunity to totally mold my persona, I want to take time deciding what I want it to be . Maybe that's the thing--long, mildly layered hair dyed in a solid brownish-red color is about as neither here-nor-there as it gets.

A different brother says that I've got an 80s bad fashion haircut and he doesn't like it. I ask him where he keeps the bowl that he uses to cut his daughter's hair, so I think we're even. She's only 1, so she doesn't know I'm being mean.

Nyssa is almost 6 and I've still never cut her hair. She has ringlets at the ends! She's getting sort of sick of it, and I barely convinced her not to get it cut when we were on vacation. Soon though, I'll have to just do it. Or rather pay a professional to, so I can hold the camera and sob.

You'll have to keep the ringlets, and drape them over her head when she's asleep, just so you can still admire them.
