Haylle (Nyssabird) ? mg to recovery

Poor little Jo-jo crab died today.

After I had been keeping him near me for observation, I returned him to his cage and placed him on his black to see if he had the energy to bother to right himself. After a bit, I decided to go about other household chores. When I next checked him, I found that he had righted himself, crawled over to 'cuddle' next to Ny-ny Fish crab and relaxed out of his shell finally and died. smiley - cry Poor little pickle.

Joseph took it pretty well. The poor bean had quite a lot of disappointment today, as this morning I told him that he could no longer go to his preschool because we were moving. I had told him before, but today it sunk in and he was inconsolable. . And then he learns that his little pet won't get to move with us. Poor Josey. He's a reasonable little guy, thankfully, and the sweet dear has been frequently checking on Nyssa's crab to make sure she's ok. smiley - love

smiley - sadface Thats a lot of bad news for a little being in a single day.

Especially as he had such excellent ideas for cheering me up the other day.smiley - hug

So is it new crab time, or are you going to let this one rest?

Yeah smiley - sadface Poor pickle. a few minutes ago he tripped and hurt his toe and cried and came to cuddle in my lap and said 'I'm having a bad day!' smiley - blue

I think after we've moved we'll let him pick a new one.

Not a good day at all. When you're that age it's difficult not to think that the whole world is having a go some days. smiley - sadface I hope it starts getting better for him soon.

At least the idea of picking a new one is something to look forward to or are you not going to tell him that yet?

What do you mean, "when you're that age"? smiley - laugh

Bad luck on the crab front m'dear. Mind you, that's an important lesson for for him- nothing lasts forever. Except possibly the out of order sign on the lift.

We talked a bit about it, and he's concerned that Ny-Ny Fish will be lonely without a friend, so he would like to get a new one and name it Buzz Lightyear. smiley - smiley

In an odd way I think his Daddy dying has benefitted his perspective on such things. smiley - shrug

Buzz Lightyear is the highest naming honor Joseph can impart. And actually Nyssa started saying that she in turn needed to rename her crab to Ny-ny Fish Mira Nova Super Power. smiley - laugh (if you haven't, rent Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, a must-see)

Yeah. Now I wonder if he'll change our little saying to 'Daddy is with Jesus, Buddha, Nietzsche, and Jo-Jo Crab.' Hehe

If he keeps adding pet names, by the time he's 18 it'll take 10 minutes and sound will a roll of battle honours smiley - laugh

Don't you just love the taste of rubber and leather? smiley - winkeye

A seemingly left field comment from kerr there, i have to agree.

Though I can think of some circumstances in which that comment might be appropriate (even desirable), hootoo wouldn't be one of them...smiley - evilgrinsmiley - devilsmiley - handcuffs

The taste of rubber and leather? smiley - footinmouth? I was refering to my early-morning tea-deprived self managing to forget the AWOL pater situation and then having to worm out of it.

*Not* anything to do with sexual practices, for once smiley - laugh
