h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Going to be away from a net connection for a few days.

I might get a chance to pop in at the weekend but other than that I'll be away until Thursday.

But then I will be socialising with people in the flesh - I just hope the course isn't going to be full of s or rather s who are y about different things to me.

General update on life: Workload is still off the scale, enthusiasm is still below the scale but work colleagues have suddenly become friendly and nice...hope it lasts...I feel much more able to cope with the other crap when I can have a laugh about it with someone

Hubby is fine but not looking forward to 2 mornings of being "cared" for by his mum and dad...Where I will chuck him his clothes and let him get on with it unless he asks for a hand they like to help him put all of his clothes on...Where I make him a cup of tea and let him get up in his own time, they nag and huff and puff about the time.

Of course he needs some help (but then I'm sure he's not the only man to have packed for a weekend away and forgotton to pack any trousers) but the last thing he wants or needs is to be treated like a baby...but then sometimes I think he quite enjoys it.

I'm certainly looking forward to not getting up at 5:30am and not having to cook for a couple of nights...but I'll miss having someone to cuddle up to, and someone to joke with about strepsils, and of course I'll miss that too...and I'll miss university challenge (monday nights bbc2 8pm), and waking up to the radio, and diet coke (bleah coffee or tea). And I'll probably end up feeling fat clumsy and stupid because everyone else will be petite, co-ordinated and articulate while I just grunt and knock things over....soddem though, snot like the course is of *any* relevence to my job it was just something to fill in the training section on my appraisal that meant my boss didn't have to admit to how inadequate the training is here.
