Hi EE!
Summer to you!
I think maybe my friend`s pc is repaired enough so that I can go on-line now.It figures,I to the best pc-linked friend to summer with--& his pc is fatally infected w/spybot.Virus sweeps don`t find it because although it allows viruses to enter yr. pc.,the initial program isn`t a virus! The next step in viruses- a super-virus-carrier!

WE managed to find a PC mag with free spy-ware removal software... I only found out after reading about it in NewScientist!
It'll be nice to see you around again

What to me is that Gary thinks:if a virus-finder doesn`t find anything,you haven`t got a virus.That`s nice, but soooo bull-headed~ where else are hackers to go? there`ll be a virus +;a super-virus;& then,a new catagory...of what were viruses~
thing I`m not paranoid!

Half the time, we seem to have to hand remove all the viruses that we get, which is so annoying. And even then, I dread think what else is clogging up the system - like now, the comp isn't catching up with my typing in time. WHat's causing that?

Laura Posted Jul 24, 2004
Have you tried running an Ad-Aware scan? Doesn't help with typing recognition I guess but I find it very useful anyway

Pythonfan Posted Jul 24, 2004
I`ll ? R about ad-aware- Unc. Ace!,
The initial program wasn`t a virus,just a bridge for viruses.Sort of a Trojan Horse.R`s friend works repairing pc`s & he couldn`t fully eradicate the mini-spybots which pop-up anywhere in the system,anytime.These are recognized as delete-worthy--but they just keep appearing.Front pages are mis-directed,files go missing-it`s chaos!...I find it interesting that,unbeknown to ea. other,both R & us downloaded Spybot...~ a wk. later,both our respective pc`s crashed...after some time,the pc re-starts & announces that it`s recovered fr. a near-fatal error...then slowly seems to heal completely~
IF you know about this you can configure yr. pc in such a way as to eliminate any problems fr. Spybot,or Spybot-like programs...that`s way beyond my understanding tho.
