A proud moment!
Odo Started conversation Jun 3, 2004
As the family takes second place in the ‘Dog with the waggyist tail’ section at the Wales and Borders Countryside and Game show. He then further marked the occasion, and got the biggest laugh of the afternoon, when he cocked his leg against the second place marker when we went up to claim his prize.
He thoroughly enjoyed his day, I managed to make it home without any extra livestock although I was very tempted by the baby ferrets, and there were some very good looking hens on offer; and B enjoyed the cider!

OK, two questions:
1) Why didn't you buy the ferrets?
2) Was it real cider? i had some real cider ina pub on Roker Seafront the other week and it was fantastic, like incredibly alcoholic cloudy apple juice.

1) Because atm I haven’t got anywhere to keep them, and I don’t think the chap whose house I’m living in would be to chuffed to find more pets clogging up his back garden. When I move however……
2) I’ve no idea, I was off shooting air rifles at this point, whilst B had been towed away from the shooting area at top speed by a frantic who we discovered was gun shy after a 12bore went off next to him.
Whatever it was it tasted rather nice.

In other words Odo, is B legless or just almost falling over?
Is it Scrumpy (very potent)
Or
Cider (not quite there)

Or the 1,1% stuff?
A proud moment!
egon Posted Jun 3, 2004
Hmm. So, not fizzy *ticks box*
And was it kind of cloudy or clear?

Odo Posted Jun 3, 2004
Clear
Lil, he was still standing. It certainly wasn't as powerful as the stuff a friend of mine makes, that really does do smoe damage to your sight!

Very many congratulations to you and the
I bet you're really proud that allof the intensive training has paid off!
It sounds like a really fun event - what with ferrets, dogs and cider. Those are a few of my favourite things!

How do you train a dog to have the waggyiest tale?
A proud moment!
Mu Beta Posted Jun 3, 2004
I'm afraid it was very normal mass-produced cider. Although very nice for a hot afternoon.
And I very much enjoyed my turn as a dog-handler, even though he failed to win anything in that category.

Mmm, he was very well behaved for you.
“How do you train a dog to have the waggyiest tale?”
Morgan doesn’t really need any training in that department. He’s a hyper-active Welsh springer spaniel who loves people, so his tail is nearly always going anyway. All you then need to do is to wind him up a little “where is it then? *jump about a bit* Go on then, find it, *doge from side to side and then start squeaking*” etc etc, and he gets very excited and your legs get battered to bits.
It also attracts the judges attention at just the right minute.
He thoroughly enjoyed himself, he shows off and attracts all sorts of people to come and talk to him. Of all the dogs there for the whole show that were being ignored by the public, whilst we get stopped and Morgan gets a fuss made of him repeatedly.
He slept well Monday evening.

I bet he did. Did you give him cider too?
