B.....it's not a case of waiting for an accident to happen. As long as you ride sensibly and think of everyone as idiots, then you should be OK.

Granted, my sister has had 3 accidents involving motorbikes, none of which were her fault, but it's only the same as if you were in a car waiting for a lorry to drive up your backside.

Do your safety checks and your life savers and as long as nothing goes wrong with the bike, you should be fine.

B, do some lessons yourself. I was petrified when I first started. I'd never driven a car or ridden a bike before, but once I got used to being on the road, it was brilliant! I'm not saying go pass your test, but do a few lessons and perhaps you will feel a bit of the buzz you get from riding.
