Anyone would think it was a Monday!

So it’s the usual story, I’m wide awake and raring to go, I look at the clock and decide that 5:30 is really far to early for any sane person to be thinking of moving. I eventually role over go back to sleep and begin dreaming deeply, only to be woken by the alarm clock about five mins later. smiley - grr

It’s brilliantly sunny outside, smiley - wow me thinks, Fred can have a proper run this morning before I head off. As I’m drinking my smiley - tea the clouds role up the channel and it begins to bucket down. April showers my foot, it was dry in April!smiley - steam Consequently I get completely drenched whilst sorting Fred out.

I’m now running late and then I notice that one of my back tyres looks suspiciously flat. I pump it back up, by now completely saturated. Back inside to change, back out to the car. Should there really be that gentle hissing noise coming from the rear? smiley - erm Probably not if I’m honest, check the pressure again. It’s not gone down so I decided to risk driving. I stop on the journey in, still not lost much pressure, pump the tyre up again and I continue at a slightly more sedate pace than normal.

So I’m in for a frustrating lunch break, having never changed a wheel before I’m not looking forward to the experience, and it’s still bucketing it down.smiley - sadface Perhaps now is the time to go a-hunting for a friendly caretaker. I may be classed as an ‘independent young cuss’ but there must be times when a girl can plead small hands and large tight nuts as presenting a bit of a problem. smiley - winkeye

smiley - erm I think it's best described as being a typical type Odo day. I'm known as the family 'good natured walking disaster area', things become complicated when I’m around.

smiley - hug I’m fine, looking forward to finishing work on Thursday (I’ve got a long weekend booked smiley - biggrin). Are you back up in York?

Be strong! You don't need a man to change a wheel for you.

1) Unfasten all the wheel nuts one turn (anti-clockwise!). If you can't turn the spanner, put it in a horizontal position and jump up and down on the end until it moves.
2) Jack up the car, just enough.
3) Takes off all the wheel nuts. Remove wheel. Put new one on.
4) Replace the first nut at the top, the second one at the bottom and then the other two. Tighten all four to hand-tight first, then to spanner-tight in the same order.
5) Jack down the car.
6) Tighten the wheel nuts a final half-turn by doing the jumping-on-the-spanner bit.
7) DO NOT PUT OFF GETTING A NEW SPARE TYRE! THE SAME THING WILL ONLY HAPPEN AGAIN!

I know a man is not a necessity as far as wheel changing in concerned, but if I can find one who can remove the wheel nuts for me it’ll make things a lot easier.

On the other hand I’ll provide the HQ staff with a very entertaining display of Odo type logic when I finish work this afternoon. smiley - laugh

Hiya

I would have replioed sooner, but pressure of first day back at work, bosses watching and a need for lunch meant that I couldn't.

How the hel are you??

Ok, lunch is essential if your stuck in work all day. I'm good atm. Life is more than a little full, but I'm enjoying it. (Car problems and invading ferrets included, it all adds to the interest.)smiley - winkeye

Glad you're back again, how's the newest arrival?

I read about both, my what a life you lead....could you be a rain goddess too?

He is wonderful, eating and sleeping really well and it seems like he is growing by the minute. The only trouble is, he is so quiet that I sometimes forget he is there.

Rarely a dull moment, is probably the best way to sum my life up. smiley - biggrin At times it’s a bit too hectic, but at least I’m rarely bored.

Rain goddess, now that’s something I could have done without this morning. smiley - grr I’ll start shrinking soon after the number of drenchings I’ve had over the last few days.

Glad he’s ok, I wouldn’t complain about the lack of noise, at least he lets you sleep. smiley - winkeye

smiley - biggrin I'm now very confused. After pumping the thing back up yesterday morning it hasn't gone down again.

I'm now wondering if someone had let the air out as a joke. smiley - erm I don't know. I'll keep a careful eye on it for the next few days, I've got a long drive to do on Thursday evening and I'm still debating whether I should change the trye anyway before I set out.

On the other hand if I attempt that there is every possibility that the wheel will fall off the car. smiley - biggrin
