You know feeling of dread you get when you arrive in work to find that all is not going to turn out well. I had hoped for a nice quiet week before Christmas, 
not a chance!
I’m on my own, reception is short staffed so who knows if I’ll be getting lunch. Worst of all the milk in our fridge smells distinctly off
, I need a cup of 
and I can’t leave the library. 
Dare I ask one of the sports students to visit the canteen for me? Risky, very risky!

Distinctly not good. I knew my day was off to a bad start when I discovered myself at work at 7.45 this morning, remembering I usually get in around 8.30-9.00.

I w**k in a tertiary college library in Wales.
Appealing to the student’s better nature could work at times, although the last group I’d actually ask would be the sports lads. All fairly reasonable in there own right but hormonal and hemmed in by peer pressure I’d rather not risk it. They’re the only group in here at the moment, and they’re all stressing about a presentation they have to do later.
Euan, that’s far too early to be in w**k any day of the week, let alone on a Monday.
