Good evening all.
It's been rather a random day all things considered.
While reflecting on the events of the day I realised it was all just a bit off kilter.
It all started at about 8.40 when I was in the shower. I thought I heard someone hammering on the front door. Then I thought I heard it again. Then I turned the water off. Then I heard someone hammering on the back door.*tsk*
This was strange because I rarely have visitors and even more rarely do they call at such an inconvenient time - just when I'm getting ready for work.
Anyway, I went downstairs covering my modesty with a rather large and shouted out the back door 'Who is it"? I could see the outline of a rather large person through the glass.
"I'm here to read the metre" was the reply. "I'm getting ready for work" I said. "Just call it out to me" he said. "Well go round to the front door then" I said. And he did. I called out the reading and he went away but it left me out of sorts.
There were a couple of oddities in work today too - but I can't divulge them due to patient confidentiality but I know you believe me.
When I picked daughter up from school she announced that she'd like to go to South Africa next year with a youth club (of which she isn't a member) and paint houses, build schools and play with children in the hospice. It costs £1,000 but she can raise this with sponsorship and she'd really like to do it - so long as South Africa doesn't have snakes or spiders. We'll see.
On the way home in the car the news was all about the fall of the Eurozone and it might just fall apart next year. That got me to wondering if I should start gathering all those pesetas that are lying around in the drawer - maybe they'll be worth something again?
Oh, and just to top it off the handle of the loo broke (I blame Ivan for turning all the world's best brains to his bog brush and therefore concentrating all their energy on all thing lavatorial) so we have to resort to pulling the metal hook in the cistern by hand until I can get to a large diy store!
Key: Complain about this post

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
