I think I should stop posting on h2g2. My sense of humor is a little too coarse for the place, apparently. I guess I go a little too far, especially for a woman.
I'm sorry if I've offended anyone ... I didn't mean to, but I seem to be doing that a lot lately. There just doesn't seem to be an embarrassment smiley that shows how bad I feel about myself here. I really don't belong ... anywhere for that matter.
See ya.
It's been real ...

I think there are people here whose sense
of humor is far coarser than yours, AW.
And anyway, why does it matter?
If you need to take time off from H2G2,
fine. I hope you'll come back eventually.
I enjoyed your nickname, Avenging Washcloth,
because it reminded me of a book I read
many years ago, called "The Pedant and the
Shuffly." There was a swarm of white handkerchiefs
(called "The Flimsies") that flew around at night
looking for unsuspecting souls asleep in their beds.
The flimsies would try to smother the sleepers.
If there's an alternative universe somewhere
in which avenging handkerchiefs can exist,
then there must be avenging washcloths, too.
But I suppose that the avenging washcloths would be
out on good errands, like cleaning babies' dirty
faces, or soothing the brows of feverish patients.

I love that nickname!!! Remind me to thank PF...
I'm grateful A. Washcloth, Esquire wrote her journal so we know what's happening... hope that she'll feel better soon!!!

Okay, okay ... I look like a completely unstable individual. I've had the same job for ten years, the same apartment for seven, the same car for five. I've lived in the same town for most of my life.
I'm not at all unpredictable ... except *here* on h2g2, where I want to run screaming every two weeks or so. Why? Damfino. The place throws me completely off base.
Somebody just shoot me, then ignore the body.

H2G2 affects lots of other people that way,
too, AW. The trouble is, I don't know what
to do to make it better.
Getting away from computers completely from
time to time is a good idea, though.
It's after 11:30 p.m. here, so I need to
abandon my computer, too. The Internet is
addictive, and it messes with your mind.
I have spent long hours at other web sites,
and people have pretty much the same problems
there, too. Especially during the summer months,
when a small disagreement can get blown out
of proportion. Hot weather aggravates the problems
that people have with computers.

And life is just the beginning.
After we figure that out (*if* we figure
it out), we have to go back and figure out
the universe and everything.
And we only have a limited time in which
to get it all sorted out!

Hope you can find a way to stick around in comfort for a while - has been great to cross your path every now and then.

I've never met you before (Hello, by the way.. I was interested by your name) but I read this and just wanted to tell you.. Don't listen to people who get all tetchy like that, and don't let them make you feel bad. 'Cos you seem like a pretty cool washcloth, dangit, and no one should make you question yourself!
Anywho, it was nice meeting you.

Thanks. I'm staying ... I'm far too addicted to the place to leave. It's a sickness, I tell you. Sick! Sick! Sick!
If I ever threaten to leave again, ignore me completely because I'll break out into a cold sweat within an hour and a half and be having apoplectic fits on the floor within six.
I lasted all of 42 hours this time, and then I had to post again.
I'm sorry.
Anyway, it's great to meet you, Peter the Girl ... thanks for your encouragement. ...and thanks to Vogonpoet too. s Maybe I can develop more confidence if I tough it out for a change.

Well, I thought there were others, maybe
lying unused in some linen closet behind
Princess Shea's boudoir in the castle
of Balwyniti, or maybe in the hold of
Pierce 's ship.
I never figured out what it was that you
were avenging, but I assumed that that was
a reference to some other washcloth's purpose.

Just 'cos you're the only, don't mean you aren't the best!
I know I'm in the best techie guild on H2, and it's the only one, so yeah..
