I just got into a car accident, a minor fender-bender. With the son of the former governor of NJ. He backed into me in a parking lot, in his oversized humvee, putting a dent in my normal-size Civic. My car is dented. My nerves are rattled. Otherwise I'm fine.
I was going to walk to work this morning too, but then I decided it would be good to go shopping after work. Which I forgot to do. Now I have no milk. 
When long does this jittery feeling last?

Sounds as if you're more rattled for yelling at . Displacement activity. I recommend yelling at an appliance. Kicking it will also help, if you are correctly shod.

This one was never properly elected, and never served a full term. And I'm not absolutely sure that this is his son, but his parents' names were on the insurance card and the internet verifies all three names as being the same.
I guess the jitters last in proportion to the severity of the accident. Mine lasted under 2 hours. And I ended up venting my leftover emotions on the recycling, and even got to throw it to the curb.
