I would like to wish all Franciscan a happy Feast Day tomorrow the 4th October.
He is such a splendid person, and really made such a difference to the life of the Church and of the world that it is good to remember him.

Happy St Francis Day tomorrow, AR!
I hope you have a lovely day. I shall be seeing Maggy on her Kabbalah workshop and I shall remember her to you and discuss coming to see you.
'St Francis fed pigeons when'ever he see 'em,
But I saw a parson today,
Who stood on the steps of the British Museum
And frightened the pigeons away!'

Prayer of St Francis (and a good one, at that):
O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, harmony;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light, and
Where there is sorrow, joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not
so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand; to be loved
as to love; for it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Pandora...Born Again Tart Posted Oct 4, 2003
St Francis stands on my front porch across from The Virgin Mary.
A fella' I know knew I wanted a statue of St Francis. And there's
a garden center nearby. One day he asked which one was St Francis? So I explained the HE was the one with the robe and his hands out.
A few days later he asked me to step outside to see what he'd brought for me. There stood a big cement statue of Mary. I was a bit perplexed...and as I was thanking him he asked what was wrong? I tried to assure him nothing...but it's sorta' hard to lie, 'specially with Mary standing right there. So I asked why he bought me Mary? He said, "Wha'?"
Now I have both and it's a good story!

Hi AR1!
I did remember you to Maggy. She still has a couple of weeks work to do writing. Apparently she had one book to do in August, but in the event, came to be writing two. We discussed coming to see you and hopefully some time soon, we will do just that.
I hope you had a lovely St Francis Day.

Yes, dear AR!
I did have a lovely time with Maggy. She is so knowledgeable about Kabbalah and I think I learned a lot. It did help that I knew something about the Sephirot beforehand, as I'd learned about it whilst studying Tarot. I think it originated about 4000 years ago from Melchezideck (spelling?), who had a revelation about it. I'm told it started off as the Menorah (the seven branched candleholder), but because the relationships between the parts were not that easy to remember, it became the Sephirot on the Tree of Life (or Jacob's Ladder) only fairly recently (in the 12th century, I think).
As I said, Maggy had intended doing one book during August, then found herself with two to do.
Merlin is rather nice, isn't he?

I love the story about the statues!
I keep the Prayer of St. Francis posted where it'll catch my eye at home ... just as a reminder.
