smiley - pumpkin Im 14 and i am in my third year at secondary and i feel that, now we have been able to choose our subjects, it should not be obligatory to partake in english. English should not be a job qualification. I have been put in a top enlish class and i find the work really hard I dont know why i am in a top class and frankly i dont believe that i should be there because i hate it and im terrible at it (rant rant) there. thats me had my tuppen'rth so have a lovleyday all! smiley - martiansmile

I will try not to be condescending. Some day, when you enter the world of work, you will find that there are many people who've spent years in school (and I include college victims) who have not mastered their native tongue. As hard and irritating as it is to put up with English instruction, it would be harder and more irritating to pick it up at a later age. There are people who pay to learn to read and write and speak because they found that their inabilities pegged them as suitable candidates for menial jobs. On the other hand, no school, at least for me, was as hard as work. Over the years I've found myself doing many distasteful and boring, not to mention dangerous jobs because when I should have been preparing myself for anything, I did what I pleased, and learned as little as I could get by with.
They don't still make you diagram sentences, do they?

Ah, then this is your opportunity to engage in freewheeling fantasy and wasted verbiage. Parodying the process is always fun when you're using the process to do it. I've always crayoned Barbie coloring books with KISS makeup...

What? Why?

Because Barbie is an easy target and she looks better in KISS makeup.
I still have a collection of Barbie bodies and heads from when my daughter was mutilating them. When she was done cutting their hair and stripping their clothes and tying them to things with tape, she usually tore their heads off.

Never give a kid a Barbie, either. It brings out the worst in them!
