Had A few rather large needles poked into my spine Friday.
Not a pleasant experience, but as I write this entry (Sunday) they are already taking effect(permission to shout "hurrah!" at an irritatingly loud volume sir). Unbelieveable! virtually pain free after nearly six years of torment and interrupted sleep. Respect, and big up to the for sorting me out. Got to go for more permanent treatment in February so thing are looking pretty good for an almost full recovery.

Hi Otter
Thanks for the welcome to the H2G2 site. It's all a bit new to me being what I think is described as a technonumpty LOL.
Just trying to catch up with my husband and the kids who of course know all there is to know about computers and some Feels like I'm coming out of a long hibernation of doing children stuff now they are nearly growed up.
Sorry to hear that you've had a spell in hospital. My husband has trouble with his spine too (neck region) and had to have an op about 18mths ago. Hope everything goes well for you.

Technonumpty!! What a brilliant title! surely this must go into the dictionary. Made me when I read it. I must admit that up until about a year ago I was a bit of a technonumpty myself. Just playing around with my PC and surfing the net has helped me improve no end. There's no substitute for practice. Like I said before, you are most welcome to visit and chat. How's your hubby's neck doing after the op? I have to have some minor surgery on my lower spine in about two to three months, and I'm hoping it's going to sort me out good. Nice to chat to you, check ya soon Otter.

Hi Otter
Hubby described his op to the consultant as 'oh I see you are going to slit my throat and break my neck' marvellous, cheered us up no end.
The op went well but was really to stop things getting worse. We suspect the original injury was caused by a sledging accident years ago when we were young and stupid (just stupid now Just means that he can't walk as well as he'd like. He's supposed to have annual scans and may have to have another op.
Can't claim originality for 'Technonumpty' but I liked it when I saw it on a Home Education list I'm on. I agree that practice on computers helps - I'm quite chuffed that I've got something on my little patch already.
