h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The Frog (bike) is dead! Long live the Frog. It was on the operating table after ripping a Cam shaft loose. We fixed all of that but it was clear that its days were numbered. It would have taken a few thousand in spares and about twelve months of carefull work to fix. That and the billowing clouds of acrid smoke that filled the air every time the engine was running gave us a clear idea that this was the end of the road. So we called it.

I went to Ye Olde Bike Shoppe in Redhill and asked for a three tonne bike with a top speed of nine thousand miles and hour that answers to the name of Arnold . Unfortunately he told me he had just the thing, a Yamaha XJ900. It had special idiot resistant features that made it ideal for me. I took it for a test drive.

A little quick it was. I felt like a small piece of rag tied neatly to the handle bars flapping in the breeze. It's even got a hyperspace button and vertical take off (if you mash up your clutch control) .

I bought it anyway, with the perhaps vain hope that one day, I'll be able to ride it. One can hope.

So here's the deal. I'm looking for suggestions for a name for this new steed. What do you think?
