Ok, I'm going to have a whine so humour me.
I started (and finished) a new temping job, let me explain.
The job was easy and the job was fine, I had no problems with that.
The problem was, it was on the 7th floor of a "glass office". That's one of those office buildings where they think it's jolly nice and good to have ceiling to floor glass windows all around the main office space and the occasional ceiling to floor window everywhere else. Including the fire-escape stairs and on the way to the rear-elevator.
Front elevator and front stairs means glass on one side, looking over Glasgow.
This is all fine for most people, but if you have a bad fear of heights (like this researcher) it's awful.
I gave it one day and my nerves were a bit frayed by the end of the day to say the least. I had to tell them I couldn't do this every day. They'd have to look for someone else.
So now I have to explain to my agency that, yes, I can work a few floors up, just not so "open plan" looking. Explaining vertigo to people who don't have it is difficult ("but you won't fall" ).
All in all, it's put me in a bit of a bad mood

You mention Glasgee in bonny Jockland. Do you know West Nile Street? I worked for a couple of weeks for Cogent - in the old Murray Johnstone building. Just though I would mention it.
Liam.
