What I meant to say in my last entry was that we would be travelling as far as the M25 and then breaking down.
Then we would all enjoy a trip in a recovery vehical while my old car was towed home. After that we would discover what basic recovery only means on my breakdown policy. (10 miles only free and the rest at £1.80 per mile!).
After towing the old jam-jar to a mechanic of previous acquaintance and then hiring a shiny new car we started again, finally arriving at seven p.m after starting out at seven a.m. Thus proving the old adage `That, if in any given set of circumstances something can go wrong, it will go wrong.`
