I spend my day translating web-sites and technical documents, which aren't exactly exciting. So you can imagine I was more than a little happy today when my boss come in with a new project for me today... Translating a real book, a 250 page hardback on the history of St.Nazaire shipyards and all the cruise liners they've ever built.
The boss is off to the north of france on monday to talk about price and author's rights etc. But I've already told her that if she doesn't get the contract she'd better not come back to work
Sure as heck would beat translating "The implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Managment System", "Maintenance Manual for an ZY485 Reactor Coolant Pressure Safety Valve" and other such meaningless junk

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
