Aftermath
Now that the war is at an end
(It is, or so they said)
It’s time to rebuild, and remake
The country, for the peoples’ sake
A land that’s on the mend
Democracy’s the thing, you see
Defence is an asset too
We want to make the world so safe
To rule it as we go, apace
We’ll force them to be free!
It ought to be improved to the spiritual end of the peoples to encourage fortitude under temporary privation.

Just some thoughts on the Late Unpleasantness, and the probable 
consequences.

Certainly! I am glad you liked the poem, I've just started poetry this year - 2003. My son contributed the 'Jane Eyre' quote, he's reading the book for 6th form English this year.

Like socks... and wire coathangers - one sock of a pair always goes missing - then there are paperclips. They vanish, because they are the larval form of wire coathangers...

Have you noticed how it's always necessary to sort through every piece of clothing you've ever owned in your entire life (and sometimes even go back to past lives) before you find two socks that actually belong together and make a pair?

Don't forget the holes... Often, one of the only two matching socks has a honking great hole in the heel...
