For someone who tends to take long breaks from h2g2 every month or so, I think I'm doing quite well, as far as my Friends list is concerned.
1. Number of Researchers on my Friends list: 28
2. Number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list: 19.
3. Number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list but are merely using the Friends list as a stalking tool: 6.
4. Number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list (overall) minus the number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list but are merely using the Friends list as a stalking tool: 13.
5. Number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list (overall) minus the number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list but are merely using the Friends list as a stalking tool, doubled: 26.
6. Difference between the Number of Researchers on my Friends list and the number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list (overall) minus the number of Researchers who have me on their Friends list but are merely using the Friends list as a stalking tool: 2.
7. Percentage of unwillingness to come up with a significant meaning for the number 2 and thus make my Friends list network special in some way: 100%
------------
It could of course, be much more than 28/26(13).

Hello, Crazyhorse. Would you like to know which group you came under in this analysis? I'll give you a hint: It's the group with the smallest amount of Researchers in it. More specifically, six. Even more specifically, "Researchers who have me on their Friends list but are merely using the Friends list as a stalking tool".

So who are the six who are stalking you?
Friends list Health
Luthiena Posted Apr 5, 2004
I think I have you on my friends list...is that bad?
Friends list Health
Potholer Posted Apr 5, 2004
I don't think so, Luthenia - you are on his list as well.

There are 22 people that *I* have chosen to be on my Friends list.
I am on 41 Friends lists.
14 of those seem to be stalker types.
I'm pretty sure 7 of those have come in regards to the digibox fiasco.

Yeah, Luthiena, you're fine to have me on your list.
The six people stalking me via the Friends list are those who have recently become aware of my existence via, yes, as Sat says, the 'digibox fiasco'.
But that's only SIX. Which isn't so bad. Or perhaps there are others stalking me via the old 'subscribe to this page' method, or even those who use more primitive stalking methods.. Hm.
But yay for the next DNA release, where Jim Lynn, as I recall, has said there will be a feature to 'delete' yourself from a Friends list you do not wish to be on. w00t.

Well aka I have put you on my friends list primarily as a result of meeting you through the err... "Digibox fiasco" but it is not becuase I am trying to stalk you bud... just never met you before that!

Researcher 178815 Posted Apr 5, 2004
Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to say I've met no new friends via the whole 'fiasco' - but there are a lot from the 'opposing side' who have decided to stalk.

Stalkers = people that have never spoke to you, but seem to have a need to read everything you write online.

I don't think I'm stalking you. At least I hope I'm not. I'm not stalking anyone on h2g2, really I'm not. I swear.

No no, the only people who are stalking me /know/ they're stalking me, and they're doing it purposefully. If you have to wonder whether I think you're stalking me or not, then I obviously don't.
For example, if your name is not Crazyhorse, then you are not stalking me.

I really ought to make more use of my friends list, I added a few when it first came along but haven't really added many new people since. I've just realised that I tend to go to a conversation I know someone is in and then use that to go to their page
Well now I shall begin to add all the people I should have added ages ago! and it will probably start with you

What better person to start with?
I still have to work towards making mine a definitive list rather than a list of just /some/ friends.
It's a bit like cataloguing your entire musical taste on paper. Tres difficult to not forget anyone.

Luthiena Posted Apr 8, 2004
I don't think I'm popular enough to warrant a stalker!

E G Mel Posted Apr 8, 2004
Neither am I but I shouldn't worry about it!
I've been here for donkey's years, still only got 7 people who consider me a friend enough to put on their lists
But hey, I'm sure it's because most of them are like me and never get round to it or just don't even think about these new fangled gadgets!
While I'm doing the no-one loves me bit if any of you feel like reading an entry on a Grand Prix, I've written one and put it in PR about 2 days ago and no-one has commented on it not even the guys in the F-1 club
If you feel like giving it a bump the convo's at F48874?thread=404869 though I fully understand that it's not everyone's cup of
