Hello all, lovly to be posting on the freshly moed lawns of H2G2.
Right, a few days ago, I decided to upgrade my 1.33Ghz Thunderbird to a 2400+ XP, the deciding factor in this transaction was the fact that last Feb I baught a GeForce4 MX 440, and It woun't work in the 1.33Ghz Machine, I had to relegate it to the 800Mhz one and live with the TNT Rive 32MB Board. so as you can imagen I got a new motherboard with the proccessor, fitted it all together works like a charm,
Windows XP decied to stomp it's feet every time I changed the motherboards round, quaint, I had to reinstall the thing 4 times. Linux Gentoo on the other hand was very much so good to go, and still is even with the GeForce4, because of the GeForce Modules, all 3D and working.
This machine now flies, it load Windows XP in less that a min, and Win 98 in less that 10 sec. I'm very impressed.

I will put it in these imortal words "I upgraded my computer because windows is such a pile of ****, and I would prefare it if no one used it ever again"
but alas we can not have such things, I'm going to see how I can get my Gentoo to Auto detect Drive partitions.

If only I could convince everybody to install Linux, all at the same time...
My company makes software, I ask them why we don't make programs for Linux or Mac, the anwser is that so many people have windows that it's not worth making them for anything else... Pants!

That is poo. And also not fair for the smaller businesses, as they have no room to grow, as they are SWAMPED by microsoft. plus, when you buy a new computor, it automatically comes with miscrosoft junk. Whats that all about?

It's called OEM, it means to buy microsoft windows as a person costs £80 to £150, but for an OEM such as Compaq, DELL or PC World, the get each copy for 10p, and it has been a big bother about it, because how can microsoft say that there software is worth 150 quid, if they are giving it away?
It's because they want a massive market share, so that people who don't buy new pc's must buy windows to keep compatability. infact microsoft is now getting a bit scared, because Linux is beating it across the head with an iron bar, Linux is Free, dosn't cost a penny, and is becoming more compatible to windows that windows is. they sold less copies of windows XP than Windows 98, I wonder why.
If you ever need help getting Linux onto yor pc, I will help you, you can have both windows and Linux on at the same time, which means that if ever Linux takes off, you will be setup ready to rock.
