Plague of squirrel/bat hybrids infest rural Iowa community

So today, I turned exactly 15 and a half, and that means I can obtain a book of of the driving laws, which I did, and now I study it and then take a written test, receive my Learner's Permit, provided I pass, drive with my parents, then take a driving test when I'm 16 and get my license if I don't wreck the Student Driver car, and this is a really long sentence.
*gasp*
Yeah. So that's pretty awesome. A few months ago, I drove my dad's truck about fifteen feet and into the bushes. I think I forgot I was supposed to use that wheel thingy in front of me. Anyway, the book is about 70 pages of boring driving instructions. I haven't read any yet, though I will later on.
I shall go eat some dinner.

My son has started taking driving lessons this week. If all goes well, he'll have his driving licence soon

Yesterday, I had my first driving lesson with my dad. We were just driving up and down the driveway. I kept killing the engine with the clutch. But the biggest problem I had was the the damn windsheild washers!! I kept bumping the little thingy when I would go to turn the key.

Quite the same experience as my son is making then.
Dón't worry, you'll learn it soon enough, after all, Rome wasn't built in one day, either.

Oh. Must be because they took too many brakes.
Huh?

I've been ordered to learn to drive.
I don't want to because
a) I don't yet need to;
b) I'd be a horribly nervous learner;
c) I'm afraid I'd get lazy.
I quite like the moral high ground which comes with being a cyclist, and I don't want to lose it, thank you.
Still, I'll probably learn. It might come in handy some time.
TRiG.

I've had a long and fraught experience with learning to drive, due to unhelpful instructors and a general difficulty at dealing with the road. If all goes well, I'll have my license by the end of the academic year... but don't count on it.
