I do the same thing as you with glasses, Cynth. I think things look nicer in soft focus and find it a bit weird outdoors when I can actually recognise someone who isn’t immediately in front of me!

Although...it might have been rather interesting if you had collaborated with Singer songwriter friend and written a assisted list. Ah well. Perhaps next time.

When I do wear corrective lenses, I've been known to get offers from boy scouts to help me cross the street, complete strangers patting my hand to console me and John Wayne types offering to rescue me.


Furbies
Keep them at a safe distance away from you and those you love.

I've only met one Furbie & he(?) was very nice to me. I liked him. Send all unloved Furbies to me & i will set up a Furbie community.

I've liked most furbies that I had occasion to meet, but then something would happen...I'd get a strange feeling that something was not quite right. Then I'd notice that the furbies would be staring at me in not the usual cuddly toy way but with EVIL INTENT! I thought it might just be my imagination playing tricks upon me(it could go professional with its card and legerdemain skills...) but no! Their eyes were following me! I finally resorted to turning their faces to the wall but I noticed that the furbies would be a quarter of the way turned back to me in the morning! Of course, it may have been my taking swipes at them during the night, but who's to say?

And my poor friend, lf2871, was freaked out to the max when her furby told her...
"BE AFRAID"


Otherwise, they're cute squidgy loveable ickle things that just happen to have a freaky evil streak.

Will pass on the word that you're starting up a furbies refuge in Angouleme to all interested (freaked out) parties.
