Are there any people (?) out there who go to this annual Jamboree at Cherry Hinton besides myself and bigalibi?
I only ask 'cos this is my 23rd (I think!) Festival and it would be fun to meet some others there!
The Festival runs on the last weekend in July and lasts foe four days, the past line ups read like a who's who of Folk Music!
To give a few (!) examples....Arlo Guthrie, SteeleyeSpan, Chieftans, Dubliners, Saw Doctors, Levellers (they're headlining this year ), Suzanne Veaga (also on this year), Pogues, Clancy Brothers, Ralph McTell, Peat Bog Faries, etc. etc. etc. The list is huge and full of other names as well (Jimmy Page and Robert Plant being others!).
As you can see, all sorts of musical tastes are catered for, even "Techno-Folk", which sound a lot better than the name implies!
I need to do a bit of research on this, but if you can't come, listen to Radio 2, Mike Harding (another ex-Cambs performer!) does a superb slot on his program!

So, as no one seems to be interested, I'll talk to my self (as usual!).
The tickets for this years bash went on sale May 1st. If you want to go, BE QUICK! They sold out within two months last year!
Suzanne Vega and The Levellers are headlining this year, along with a large bunch of other groups.
The price is not that expensive considering the number of artistes appearing over the four days of the Festival. You can buy tickets for individual days if needed, but some artistes only appear for one day, so be careful which day you book! It would be a shame if you booked for, say, Saturday, and the group you wanted to see was on only on for Friday!
My usual crowd, (most of us are 20yr+ veterans!) are all going!
