Lysenkoism and Homophobia

I just learned a new word: Lysenkoism as in
When politicians dictate science, government becomes entangled in its own deceptions, and eventually the social order decays in a compost of lies. Society, having abandoned the scientific method, loses its empirical referent, and truth becomes relative. This is a serious affliction known as Lysenkoism.
Proponents of homosexual behavior have claimed for some time that the tendency to prefer sex with your own gender is an inborn trait. That
those who speak against homosexuality are homophobes. This is actually a form of lysenkoism- abandoning scientific method to justify their own lifestyle.

The last sentence of that journal entry was: This is actually a form of lysenkoism- abandoning scientific method to justify their own lifestyle.
If someone yikes the first post maybe this will remain.

Are you saying homosexuality is not an inborn trait? If so what scientific method is the basis for your asumption?

I am not going to prove a negative. It is up to those claming inborn status to List the Scientific studies supporting their claim.

One site asks the question: Within the last decade, genetic analysis of heritable traits has taken a huge step forward with the advent of DNA microarray technology. Using this technology, it is possible to scan large lengths of the human genome (even an entire genome wide scan - GWAS) for numerous individuals, at quite reasonable costs. This DNA microarray technology has led to the discovery of genes that are associated with complex diseases, such as Crohn's Disease, which is the topic of my research. If homosexuality truly has a genetic component, DNA microarray studies (probably beginning with the X-chromosome) would not only definitively prove the point, but would identify specific gene(s) or loci that might be associated with those who express a homosexual orientation. Why haven't these studies been done?
My guess is because those with the money to launch such studies don't want a definitive answer.

If homosexuality is in the genes it is hereditary, right?
So who is spreading it then?
Homosexuality is also common in other species.
Do animals have the ability to choose sexual orientation?
Ps: I am not proposing homosexuality. It's quite obvious to me that I don't have to. It's here and I accept it. Why shouldn't I? It doesn't concern me .
All the homosexuals I know assure me that they are not gays or lesbians by choice. They are very convincing - and why shouldn't I believe them?

I accept homosexuality as a fact of life, but I have also known those who changed their sexual orientation.
This tends me to believe that it was something in their childhood that drove them to a particular orientation rather than a gay gene.
People have mapped out the entire human genome set but have yet to come up with a gay gene.

You talk about homosexuality in lower species. There have been research studies that show in severe overpopulation animals change their orientation to homosexual. That it was a response to environment not genetics that caused them to turn that way.

anyway enough on this topic.
We are all waiting for the next shoe to drop on the transfer of domain to the new hootoo.--shagbark slinking back into the woodwork.

Okay, but I just want to add that there is of course also the question of bisexuality to be answered
You say "I have also known those who changed their sexual orientation".
Well, some say only very few (or maybe none)of us are 100 percent heteros or 100 percent homos. Most are bisexual to a smaller or bigger degree. I don't know, but if that is indeed the case it would explain why some can choose what way to swing, yes?
Famous female handball player said "I don't care what gender my partner has". She is now married to a male after having been married to a female for some years.
It's all very confusing so I think I'll stick to what I know
