One of my students has just brought me a present.
It is a stick and when you tip it up...it sounds like water trickling........must be full of beads or something.
. Sometimes students can be very nice.
It's very strange but will keep me entertained for the day.
Small things amuse small minds.

Do you mean like a rain catcher? Those things are the bees knees.
I wish I was as nice a student as that

I have plenty of time myself, but i spend it all at h2g2 .
I am currently in germany doing few wee research projects as part of my masters degree in chemistry (whats your subject btw), and I have to write one up, and I just keep putting it off, and then putting it off again - I am very bad really. Nice yes maybe , but bad too !

I think we all suffer from the same thing
I'm doing MSc in gender research.......I actually teach psychology but always wanted to do some gender studies.
The postmodern philosophy in it makes my brain hurt
I think I shall just go sit in a corner and play with my stick ,

Good idea, and in the meantime I shall endeavour to also strike up a conversation with St Jon, and maybe distract people enough so that the simulpostings calm down a bit on the lymeric thread .
Of course, the haiku threads have been a bit slow today, so maybe you can lend a habd there too...
