I've only just seen this sad news.
Jennings brought me endless happy hours in my childhood, and the books can still reduce me to tears of laughter now. Nobody understood the workings of the eleven year old mind as well as Buckeridge.

Goodness me! I honestly thought that he must have died years ago. Jennings was a big part of my childhood too. There's one passage from a Jennings book I can remember to this day - Derbyshire walking around in small circles in a shop because he'd just hurt his... hand I think
