Tee hee. I got my mother gifts for Mother's Day, which is on the 12th here...

She was crying yesterday because her mother is quite set in her ways and she's not very nice to my mommy. I haven't been thrilled with my grandmother for awhile (especially after she said TERRIBLE things about homosexuals a few months back!!!!), and I brought up my new reasons for not being enthralled by her last night, only to find that instead of my parents defending her, they were arguing their own reasons for feeling hurt by her hard-headedness.

I feel bad for Mom. She's really really sick and I think she's been depressed for a long time. I don't blame her at all....

I've decided to give her one of the two books I bought her for Mom's Day tonight instead of saving it. YAY!!!

My late grandmother used to have very strong opinions, especially on things that she knew nothing about! I suppose it's hard to change attitudes that you've held for so long. I think my grandparents' relationship with my parents improved in their later years; I know they weren't on the best of terms when I was a toddler.

I think your present for your mum will mean a lot to her. You're a very kind person...

I don't like to see people hurt.

Mom has a rough enough life.

I think older people have a right to get set in their ways, but I don't feel anyone has a right to hate anything they do not understand, and refuse to understand!!!

Oh and my mother's spoiled me all my life and has encouraged me to follow my dreams... the least I can do is be kind to her...

We had a rough time, well, for probably several years off and on, but now we're beginning to understand each other better, I think... it's good.
