h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

In light of the Children in Need day in the UK (today), I thought maybe they should think about what mothers are in need of, too.
So here's my list:
-a warm cup of //
-sleep. and then some sleep.
-time to read/knit/embroider/rest/watch TV
-a good massage/manicure/facial/pedicure/haircut
-money.
-a shopping spree
-friends
-time to go out with above friends
-//
-a good meal, preferably not prepared by said mother
-a night out.

But you know, sometimes by the time everything is done, and the kids are in bed, you're so exhausted, you can't face all the things you really want to do for yourself. You just want to collapse and go to sleep.

I think we all want a bit of a fuss made of us sometimes, mothers, fathers, whoever we are. And if you're an at-home mother, sometimes it's hard to feel like you're a person with abilities and needs like anyone else. Sometimes it feels like you're just the maid and the nanny. Sometimes you just want to feel special.
