Tuesday, 31st May:

Of course when I said that I expected to drop down the table today, I had entirely forgotten the fact that this being Tuesday, everyone who got a win bonus paid a week last Monday would have that payment built into their growth calculations from today.

I'm effing well SEVENTH!!! smiley - wowsmiley - bigeyessmiley - biggrin

On today's figures - about another 120% growth would have put me in first place.

I reckon if instead of switching my investment out of the fast rising share last night - Marlon Devonish - and into a share that I'm holding for dividend purposes, that I would have put about another 70% on to the growth and would have been 3rd when the stats were calculated in the early hours of the morning.

Thursday, 2nd June:

For the entire duration of the dividend period I held shares in Martin O'Neill.

His price didn't budge during Tuesday, therefore in the early hours of Wednesday when the calculations were run, my portfolio hadn't grown appreciably, therefore I dropped to 51st place.

I should at this point big-up Bottletop who appears to have been daytrading through, and got a very nice 49th place on Wednesday. Good work, fella smiley - ok

Through Thursday Martin put on a few pence. Not huge sums, but certainly plenty enough to cover my commission charges in buying him in the first place.

His dividend when paid just after midnight was £3.02 per share, which gives a yield of 71% over the two days, after considering day-trade changes and commission charges.

My other possible target had been Gordon Strachan again. I was humming and haa-ing all through Monday as to which I should go for. As it turned out they were within a percentage point of each other when all the sums were done - Gordon had poorer divs but better day-trade. The best share I could have got would have been Lindsey Davenport who would have delivered a yield of 104%.

Anyway all these divis pouring into my account meant that I shot back up the table, and I've been enjoying my NINTH place all day today.

In another shock move; today's fast riser - James Cracknell - is on such a smiley - rocket ship to smiley - mars (I suppose that ought to be smiley - mars to smiley - rocket, but hey ho...) that there is a fighting chance that I might need to downtrade on Friday evening to avoid getting kneecapped at £2million. This would be quite an achievement for me if it occurs, as it will mean that for the first time I will have gone from the initial £10k to the £2m capping point in 2 weeks. All my other trips (both of them) have been on a 3 week cycle.

Thank's for your mention in (Sportdaq) dispatches. Yes, all I have done of late is day-trading, and I too seem to be in a three week trading-cycle. It seems to be so easy to get from 10k to 2000k in that time, the last time I hit two 2mil mark on the Tuesday and had to 'tread-water' 'til Sat, down-trading on the Friday. But to do it in two weeks, well, if you can do that then great...

While on the subject, the last time I looked our (H2G2 Superstars MKII) position in the League of Leagues we were 318th (best 108th)...
C'mon lads we can do better than this.... smiley - laugh

Oh, it's nice to know that there are lurkers still around here smiley - smiley So I'm not just doing this journal for my own benefit.

Well, I'm not going to make it to £2million by 4am on Saturday. Mainly as I missed the move into Matt Dawson today. I saw that he had gone top just before I shut the PC down last night at 2am. But I thought it was simply one of those late night blips. When I got up this morning I forgot to check the winners and losers, and didn't get back until lunchtime, by which time Matt was on a charge and JC was nowehere. I reckon I missed out on about 8% through that error.

Anyway in the last hour I've dumped Matt and moved to Martin Corry. So that's another 2% commission spent up, so I'm definitely not going to be on £2m tonight - unless of course he manages 2.6% per hour for the next 6½ hours, in which case I'm right up sh*t creek! smiley - yikes

And now it looks like I'll have to switch out of Martin Corry as he's stalled. It's to be either Will Greenwood or Ricky Hatton for the overnight shift. The decision one way or the other will be made in the next half an hour.

Sunday, 5th June - 2pm-ish:

But of course you count, Light smiley - smooch

It's just that I'm honoured in still having Bottletop hanging around here, as he is the hootoo expert at this game, and the one who taught me everything I know.

Anyway, back to how I'm doing this weekend. The daytrading has been fairly quiet. Daniel Carter is still in the lead, where he has been seemingly for ever, but his price at no time has been running away from the field.

I've missed the first of the weekend win bonuses. Initially I was going to go with the big (and over priced at c.£6 per share) favourite, Valentino Rossi. But then I thought Mugello is Max Biaggi's home race track, and that he would try today to pull out something special despite having the inferior bike. Plus his price was around a fifth of Rossi's, so if it came off, I would get way more win bonus for my investment.

Sadly Max only lead the race for about 5 laps before Rossi came through to win it. Never mind. It was worth a punt.

This loss means that I am going to be downtrading at the end of the week. I came into this cycle with around £1.7m, and if Biaggi had won I would have near on doubled my money come Monday, and would have been in a great position to push through and get a load of icons at Friday's kneecapping. This despite the fact that at £1.7m I'm starting at a 15% disadvantage. But as I haven't won, this starting disadvanatge weighs heavy and it's not worth playing for limited results come Friday.

Oh I'm definitely going to play through this week, and then take it right down on Friday.

I think that it's always worth playing, even though you're going to throw it all away, just on the off chance that they offer a win bonus that requires investment before Friday, but pays out in the week after. They've made that mistake once before - some netted £62m+ because of it smiley - bigeyes - so they could certainly make it again.

Monday, 6th June - just before midnight.

I'm currently pondering as to who to invest in for the dividend period. I'm tempted to go for Ashley Cole as he is sure to be the one with the highest payout come midnight on Wednesday, but of course many of the muppets have had exactly the same idea and his value has soared to an unprecedented £10.61 per share, meaning that the yield will be rubbish. (Ricky Hatton gets ruled out on similar grounds.)

What I'm looking for is a reasonably priced share that has good dividend potential coupled with day-trading growth. A hard call, but I think I know who I'm going for...
