Ah, maybe they've updated the treatment since Mum had it then as she had steroid injections into her wrists and then had operations, it's all ok now though.

Carpal tunnel syndrome affects the median nerve in it's passage from the forearm, through the carpal tunnel in the wrist, to the hand.
The symptoms he's describing are ulnar nerve symptoms. The ulnar nerve does not pass through the carpal tunnel.
