Well, today was my first "proper" exam: Latin literature, and it was mostly good, only I did the essay question that the three lads didn't do...maybe that was a bad idea, but I felt happier about it than the other one, cos it was on the poetry we'd done and not on the nasty political text about nero and how he kills everyone...maybe that's more appealing to lads? I must keep calm, cos there's nothing I can do about it now... Anyway, at least I finished all the questions on the paper, which is more than some people did! Anyway, am going to have a lie-in tomorrow. But not for long...have to revise modern history (why? why? why????). Medieval is sooooooo much more interesting and easier, but it has to be done.
Farewell for the present...

I hope so too - but i did the "wrong" essay! I had made up my mind to do that one before I went into the exam, like, weeks before, but still...

The fact that they all told me that I was silly to have done it, well, two of them did, but i don't care cos if i'd written the other one, it'd have been worse!

Charlotte did latin at GCSE. We didn't even know it was a possibility, I guess it's just the Grammar schools that offer it.

yeah, mostly it is
The lads will have done better cos they're lads, but 2 of them didn't finish the paper, so...

Doesn't necessarily mean they've done better. Linguistics is technically an art, so in the sex wars, it's more likely a lass will do better- female brains tend to be more oriented towards arty subjects whereas the male brain is usually better at the sciences. Of course, there are exceptions in every case- there are as many accomplished male artists as there are excellent female scientists.

ugh, no, not feminism
*shudder*
I *like* having doors held open for me! The fact that I can do it myself doesn't come into it!

me too, but i also like holding doors open for other people...well, sometimes
and don't be specific with your generalisations...maybe blokes are on average more intelligent than girls, i don't know, but you can't say that they'll do better in the exam purely because they're guys
