Captain Kebab

I've just got back from a brilliant fortnight in Crete. smiley - biggrin

What a great place - super weather, loads of history to explore, amazing scenery and mostly delightful people. Bloody awful drivers, though! And I've been eaten alive by small flying things, and I've got a bit of an upset stomach, and I'm absolutely knackered, but it was all worth it.

And when I got back I tried to get my extremely touchy PC to work. General concensus before I left was that I needed a new power supply, but as my motherboard is an AT and AT power supplies are no longer easily available I bit the bullet and bought a new PC. I wish I'd done it before - I've been struggling for ages trying to get my old one to work - it's really too old - everything is incompatible with new gear.

I got away with spending less than £300, as I only needed the basics. It's taken my half the afternoon to get it to see my old hard drive, but I'm in business at last. Phew!

I don't suppose it will make me any more diligent about journal entries. smiley - erm

Hi Cap'n!
Hope you had a good time in Crete. My sister's on holiday there right now too. The postcard I got today also said nasty things about evil biting beasties but then added lots about eating and thinking about being active... I shall have to look carefully in the background of all her holiday snaps to try and spot you. smiley - smiley

Hi MC!

Crete was great, but the flying beasties are horrid. I plastered myself with anti-mozzie lotion, wiped myself with Jungle Formula wipes, and slept with one of those mozzie machines plugged in next to my bed, but still got bitten. And we were forever waving flies away from our food. smiley - yuk But it's a brilliant place for a holiday.

If you're looking our for me in your sister's piccies - I didn't wear my big leather hat!! (Although I bought another one while I was there) I mostly sported a big green wide-brimmed floppy hat or a black and white bandanna. smiley - biggrin
