1) I find Chucky Bums drinking mildly reassuring. At least he probably knows how much a pint costs which is more than can be said for most of the Labour (too busy with cocktails and canapes) and the Tories (too busy despising the working class oiks who actually drink in pubs) do.
2) Politics does affect our shoes. I only bought that pair of leopard skin loafers because teresa may said they were a good idea.

Humpf. Beat me to the Theresa May joke .
I cant imagine many Clarkeniks marching in to cast their votes wearing suede hush puppies as a show of support.
Back to "adult" issues.
(sorry if this has beencovered but eveythin but the first few lines of postone has been obscuered by the filter on this system.)
In the US the christian right wing is trying to geta perceived innocence bill passed. Not content with laws that make producers and publishers verify the age of models they use what the perceived innocence bill will apparently mean is that models or actors who look younger than eighteen will be outlawed.
Now I can seethe reasoning behind thebill in one sense although that reasoning is flawed because it ignores the way the world really is, but when have politicians ever let that get in the way of a piece of vote winning legislation. WhatI cant seeis hoe is this legal because it makes it illegal for someone who is otherwise legaly entitled to earn a living in jazz amgs and grumble vids unemployable because of the way they look.

Please pardon my ignorance, but I don't get the Theresa May joke.
Excuse? I live in Spain.

At last years conservative party conference amidst the typically unglamourous greysuits and blue suits Thresea May wore a (as best I can remember) a blue trouser suit with some high(ish) heeled red and black zebra pattern fake snake skin shoes (actually I could be getting this mixed up with one of my dreams). Anyway at the annual conference of this countries longest running political party and official opposition in the house oc commons the biggest story was her footwear.

Sad state of affairs, is it not?
Personally, I find it very difficult to walk on kitten heels. They are too eensy. But to have this become a big story amongst politicians only supports my concept that politicians do not make the best of their time, time they are being paid to do other things rather than concern themselves about people's footwear.
Well, it was probably the press making a fuss about the kitten heels. Whatever.
Do I know what I am talking about when it comes to politics? NO!
But I know about shoes.
Whatever.

Err, who exactly gets to decide when a woman looks eighteen? Is this just an excuse for said Christians to go around oogling young women to 'judge their age'?

Sad thing this law will do nothing about insidious and cynical attempts to exploit the fantasies of males and promote the sexualisation of girls. Videos like Ms Spears' and Ms Aguilera's notorious "Dirty" will not be censored or sensured, but they are made by big businesss' and we all know what law makers think about companies who can make large contributions to their election campaigns.
Mina, I did not make this about politics and religion, you ought to look politicians who bang on about it being their religious duty to stop people making a living by using their own bodies with other consenting adults.

Mine? How? I think you'll find post 29 the first to mention politics, to whit-
"No, it's those living in a town where the sitting Tory MP has the sixth biggest Tory majority that have this type of fuss."

Though as an aside I have to say that I really got a laugh out of whichever Labour wag it was who shouted, in resonse to one of IDS's questions yesterday in the house 'We'll get back to you next week!'

Oh, so we've descended to the level of democracy have we? Bugger the truth, let the mob rule?
It's that sort of wooley minded thinking that gave us a Spitting Image puppet as a PM.

Sod off. I didn't want the horrible man up there. I was quite happy with IDS. Another five years of Labour. Fantastic. I think I need to find some small woodland animals to mutilate to cheer me up.
