I'd think about it for the entertainment value...

Fine, in that case, maybe you'll find a pub that will employ you as a comedy beer mat smiley - winkeye

Actually, last night proved to me that I prefer the beer on the inside...

Though I'm thinking that Kylie on a table in front of me in a pub still has possibilities, just not for propping my beer on...smiley - winkeye

Mostly it was just odd- a result of junk food and exhaustion, I think. There was this baby, that wouldn't stop crying (that will be because there was one on the train). So its mother tried to feed it cheese smiley - huh Then the baby turned into Claudius (as in I, Claudius), still kept screaming, then he got eaten. Like I said, not something you want to say happen smiley - weird

Ah, not too bad. He did a lot of nodding off, so we didn't hang around for more thana couple of hours. I'm failry convinced we won't have to make the trip too many more times though, if you catch my drift.

Had a little tour 'round the pubs on Charlotte Street (off Euston Rd) in the evening- quite a choice.

Charlotte Street - so you ended up north of the river again? Best way, really...smiley - winkeye

Hmm, I do catch your drift. Sorry to hear it and all that.

We even found a halfway decent boozer in Brixton, albeit a 'chain' one, but it was under £2 a pint and clean...smiley - shrug

Full of blokes with beer guts in AC/DC tour shirts though...smiley - yikes

Well, we had to get back that way for the train- I'd rather realise the train's due in 10mins, and I'm 5mins run from the station, than realise the train's due in 10mins and I'm 20mins Tube journey away. We did revisit the pub whereof I spoke, however. Crown and Cushion, near Waterloo, three real ales (including Greene King IPA), £1.90 a pint. That's fine by me.

Cheers for the thought- on the same lines, how's y'mam doing?

There you go you see, there are reasonable boozers on that side smiley - winkeye

My mum appears to be coming along fine. She is due to go and see her specialist sometime this week and wil get the date for her chemo, which will be a solid month of travelling btween home and hospital on a daily basis, which I think she is dreading...

Funny hing about the Brixton boozer is that last time it was full of perverts going to the TG birthday party...was a strange kind of feeling last night. smiley - laugh

Its a big pub on the main drag about ten seconds walk from the Academy (which has stupid beer prices all it's own), so I suppose it makes sense to get some down beforehand...smiley - winkeye

Ahh, like that. I know places like that. It would probably go out of business of the Academy made its prices more sensible.

You might well be right, though the beer is good - I spotted five or six hand pumps, which for a London boozer is pretty acceptable...and it does appear cheap by comparison to much else.

Trouble is, I always see Brixton at such funny times of day...I have *never* been there during 'normal business hours'.smiley - laugh

smiley - laugh Well, like I said, it's a couple of years since I've seen Nottingham in daylight. Five or six hand pumps is respectable anywhere!

I think the mistake was switching from cider in the boozer to Smirnoff Ice in the venue.

Dehydrated this morning or what? smiley - yikes And I think you could have wrunk mine and the flatmates shirts out and caused a flood somewhere last night...We appeared to be the only ones in the audience who understood that the term 'boogie' is connected to dancing in some way...
