First Week of the Millennium

Post 1

bludragon, aka the Dragon Queen of Damogran

Well, actually only the first 5 days.
The holidays are 'officially' over now, as the tree has been taken down both in my living room and on my h2g2 page. I miss the holiday smileys, tho. Especially the pudding.

Enjoyed following the progression of the Millennium celebration through the time zones. Especially Paris. I always wondered what the Eifel Tower was REALLY for. Now I know; it is a giant fireworks stand.

Very little is new here, except I have a wonderful new cold. But I think that the germs snuck in from the last millennium. And my computer still awaits a new power cord.

However there is something new on h2g2. A new country has come into existence recently. With a new ruler.
*ahem*
The Dragon Queen of Damogran invites you to visit her realm.

Hullo Njan!
Happy millennium [whichever one you want]. I know that 'technically' the Third Millennium does not start until next year, however, one cannot deny that the NUMBERS changed this year. That is quite a psychological difference. So I will go with that one.

A Prince? Of course! We have one prince at the moment. The actual reason we ended up as the Dragon Queen of Damogran is related to THAT prince, so I am afraid he will hafta be the 'crown prince'. But we could always use others. You can be a Prince of Damogran, or, if you like, a Prince of a mysterious foreign land. Howzat?

We look forward to receiving you *AHEM* 'formally', at the Royal Court!

Numbers changed, millenium didn't. smiley - smiley Whether it sounds different or not, it's not the millenium... although bearing in mind either sounds imressive, there's a good case for celebrating each one. smiley - smiley

nnnD'oh... uhh.... Prince sounds good... as long as I can be something else as well... I'd hate to be one of those princes that just sulk around in the castle that they're ignored by everyone, and generally maky a nuisance of themselves. So I don't want to be an English-style prince. smiley - smiley

That's the great thing about Camelot...er...I mean Damogran: you can be WHATEVER you want. I have heard that the queen is very friendly and welcomes all titled courtiers. I bet you can be a Prince of whatever style you want. Multi-titled if that does the trick. I b'lieve there is a Royal Baker who holds several other titles as it is.

Thank you for your kind offer.

The cable in question is actually a power adaptor for a Macintosh G3 Powerbook. So it is more than just a cable, and costs about $70.00 US from Apple.

My husband has repaired the cable, which had been pinched when the cover of the Powerbook was closed on it. It is only a temporary fix, and I do not want to use the computer while it is connected. But, the only way the batteries can be charged is to leave them in the computer while it is plugged in.

So, what I do is charge the batteries, unplug the power cable, use the computer for 3-6 hours, and then turn it off and plug it in again until it is charged up again. It seems to be working OK. Maybe this is not necessary, but I am more comfortable with the computer off while I am using the cable.

I have a new one on order, but dunno how long it will take it to arrive. Meanwhile, I just have to watch the batteries.

Thanks again for your offer, tho. smiley - smiley
