The only thing I've had with a "do not remove" tag had at least the added "except consumer", so I was able to cut it off without being subject to fine or imprisonment.

"Do not attempt to repair or replace", though... that might make sense for an electronic item or something, but a seat?

I'd also love to know what kind of cushion you used.
